A quick word on Glasgow Comic Con

Glasgow Comic Con is upon us!

Dogooder Comics is launching TWO new books at Glasgow’s CCA this weekend (5th and 6th of July): Dungeon Fun Book Two and Reel Love.

We’ve also got some of the quadruple SICBA-award nominated Dungeon Fun Book One left. Here’s a handy infographic about how we’ll be selling the books:

108 pages of comics for £10? A bargain in anyone’s book!

We’ll be joined by Owen Michael Johnson and Neil Slorance. Here’s a map of where to find us:

As mentioned, Dungeon Fun is up for four SICBA awards. Voting stations are scattered across the venues, please make use of them and vote for your favourite book, especially if it’s ours.

And finally if you can’t make it to GCC14. rest easy - both Dungeon Fun Book Two and Reel Love are available to pre-order now from the Dogooder webstore for dispatching on or just after the 7th of July.

Have a great time, everyone!

davestokes:

One of my favourite books recently is Dungeon Fun by Colin Bell and Neil Slorance.  It’s a great fantasy adventure comic with a wicked sense of humour, that’s choc-full of references to Zelda and other fantasy video games of my youth.

They’ve just announced that the second issue will be available at this years Glasgow Comic Con, and I for one can’t wait so I finally got around to doing some fan art for the book to celebrate

YOU GUYS COME LOOK SEE HOW GOOD DAVE IS

Here is the cover to Dungeon Fun Book Two, by Colin Bell and Neil Slorance.

Dungeon Fun Book Two will debut alongside two other new Dogooder Comics titles at this year’s Glasgow Comic Con in July.

More on this breaking story as it happens.

After about 6 years doing the convention circuit, I can say with some confidence that this year’s Thought Bubble was not only my most successful and enjoyable yet but a real eye-opener for people new to the convention, or conventions in general, or even comics in general! The British Comic Awards…

TODAY IS DUNGEON FUN DAY!
You can now buy Dungeon Fun #1 for £4 plus shipping through the Dogooder Comics Emporium!
You can now buy a DRM-Free Digital Dungeon Fun PDF for the special launch price of £1 through Sellfy!
Tonight (Wednesday 20th November) sees writer Colin Bell and artist Neil Slorance launch the first issue of Dungeon Fun with an evening of wine and chocolate brownies at Glasgow’s Plan B Books. Dungeon Fun will also be available through select comic book stores in Glasgow today… but probably not until the afternoon, delivery of books permitting.
This weekend will also see Neil and Colin take Dungeon Fun on the road, as they descend upon Leeds’ Thought Bubble Festival on Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of November. Neil is on Table 69 in the New Dock Hall! Colin is on Table 2 in the Royal Armouries! Both of them are LOVELY GUYS!
Dungeon Fun is the story of a girl and her sword…
Raised by trolls in the moat of a castle, Fun Mudlifter lives a life of boredom, until one day when adventure finds her and a sword plummets into her village. Setting off to confront the trolls responsible for the falling items that plague her and her neighbours, Fun begins an off-beat odyssey that encompasses jobsworth trolls, three-headed beasts, soothsaying shamans and headless barbarians, as she valiantly battles her way up through the dungeons to her final goal. With hilarious results!
Dungeon Fun is 32 full-colour pages of adventuring comedy from the Scottish Independent Comic Book Alliance Award-nominated duo of writer Colin Bell and artist Neil Slorance, who between them are responsible for titles such as The Amateur Astronomer’s Journal, Jonbot Vs Martha, and Detective Space Cat.
HERE’S WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING:
"One of the things that missing for kids (of all ages) is fun comics making a mockery of various tropes. Dungeon Fun happily steps up to the plate and demolishes as many as they can in 32 pages, with a lively, funny tale that should appeal to anyone who ever read a fairy tale." - John Freeman, Down the Tubes
“I can honestly say that Dungeon Fun is the funniest comic I have ever read.” - Rob Jones, INTER-COMIC
"Sometimes it’s rather nice just to sit down and read a comic that is fun for the sake of being fun; a comic that is daft, cute, clever and produces genuine laughs and a great cast of characters for readers to want to hug." - Laura Sneddon, The Beat
"A fun fantasy adventure for all ages without the spite or world-weary tones of similar work out there" - Nevs Coleman, Bleeding Cool
"…it’s something you can share with the people in your life who don’t mind being silly once in a while. Dungeon Fun really is laugh-out loud and relentless about it.” - Vince Ostrowski, Multiversity Comics
“Combining the utter fun of all ages comics with the modest, ingenuous heart of an indie book, Dungeon Fun is a real treat.” - Billy Tournas, Geek of Oz
One of "The Beat’s Recommendations For Thought Bubble." - comicsbeat.com
"…an indie dream-team hitting us with their big guns……like the A-Team emerging from a shed with a cannon that fires vegetables.” - Gary Watson, Comics Anonymous
" A brilliantly upbeat title that deserves to be seen by as many people as possible" - Ceej Neilson, Big Comic Page
